Sunday Funday: High Tea and UK Mother's Day

March 27th happens to be my birthday and Mother’s Day in the UK.

So, what better way to celebrate than to combine both worlds and have a HIGH TEA!

I have searched high and low for High Tea all over the world. London, British Virgin Islands, Hong Kong, NY (none other than The Russian Tea Room) Hawaii, Los Angeles (Paddington’s, The Peninsula Hotel) just to name a few. But there is nothing more delightful than having High Tea in your own home and transforming your table into a delightful wonderland.

Honestly, I don’t know why I don’t do it more often…I love it so much. Girly? Maybe, but the dudes were all about it too.

It’s Sunday and Chef Brando has pulled out all the stops. God Bless. My table was enchanted.

Endive and Waldorf salad, Egg salad, Smoked Salmon and Cream Cheese, French Macaroons from Bottega Louie, Scones, Pavlova, Green Goddess Goat Cheese Cucumber on Honey Wheat, Horse Radish Cream Fraiche Filet Mignon with Black Truffle, Roasted Strawberries, Preserves, Clotted Cream.

Champagne and a Variety of Teas.

I die!

Good friends also adorned me with gorgeous cakes, homemade lemon poppyseed cake, treats and flowers. Magical.

I got to hear from Dante in Boston and received an art book on Jean-Michel Basquiat and artist we both love.

My son, Enzo, surprised me with four Fabergé eggs to later be stuffed with caviar which also adorned my table. C’mon, does it get any better?

Kelly, my friend and English Rose from London, felt celebrated as did I. I’m still drooling.

We then watched The Academy Awards which was quite eventful (thanks to Will Smith) and the hours later, had dinner.

In keeping with the English theme, Chef Brando continued the night with, herb crusted lamb pops, roasted chicken, mushy peas (Kelly’s favorite) and Yorkshire Pudding with yummy gravy.

My friend Kathy delivered a showstopping cake from Nathan Shahani, that stole the show and maybe one of the best chocolate cakes I have ever tasted. Chef Brando and Drew brought two more cakes from Bottega Louie!

Phenomenal. Plethora of sinful delights.

I couldn’t be more grateful, loved and happy! Blessings.
